Does your child love robots? Is he or she a Master Builder with LEGO’s? Want to join the most constructive after school program around? FIRST LEGO League can help your child develop better problem solving skills and create excitement with science and technology using LEGO’s Mindstorm software and EV3 Robots!
UPDATE:
The Aquabots, the Steel Bricks and the Robotic Outrageous Boys of Technology (R.O.B.O.T.) are the names of the three Miramar Ranch First Lego League (FLL) teams that competed this month in the FLL Qualifying Competitions. FLL is an organization that encourages teamwork, pre-engineering skills and the Core Values of Gracious Professionalism and Coop-artition (Cooperation and Competition.) The competition is fierce as these young elementary school students compete toe to toe with students who range from 4th to 8th grade. The three MRE teams had to complete several difficult tasks, including Lego Robot Design and Programming, as well as Presenting a Project where the students had to identify and solve a societal problem concerning Hydrodynamics. Team R.O.B.O.T., consisting of five MRE 5th graders competed on November 4 and took home the coveted Champion’s Trophy for being a team that excelled not only in the programming and project performance, but in demonstrating the Core Values throughout the competition. Team R.O.B.O.T. will compete on December 3 at the Regional Competition at Legoland California.
