We Love Our Volunteers!

We’re incredibly lucky to have so many wonderful volunteers who generously share their time and talents with our school and students! So many of our events, activities, and programs wouldn’t be possible without your support. Whether you’re a committee chair, a classroom helper, or lending a hand just once, we want to say a big THANK YOU! You make such a difference!

Volunteer Requirements for Parents

Please read the "How to become a Volunteer" document for more details on the Volunteer approval process at MRE. To keep our school safe and secure, all parent volunteers must complete certain steps based on how and where they volunteer:

Volunteering On Campus:
  • Parents volunteering on campus must complete the Volunteer Application and TB Assessment in the In-School Volunteer Packet.
  • In-School Volunteer packets are available [here] or can be picked up at the MRE front office.
  • Volunteer Packets must be completed every year, but the TB Assessment is only required every 4 years (see below for more information)
  • Completed packets should be submitted to the MRE front office.
  • Volunteer clearance takes 3-4 weeks.

Attending Off-Campus Field Trips:
  • Parents attending any off-campus field trip must complete Live Scan Fingerprinting, in addition to the Volunteer Application and TB Assessment from the In-School Volunteer Packet.
  • Live Scan Fingerprinting is paid for by the parent and is valid for 5 years.
  • In-School Volunteer Packets are available [here] or at the MRE front office.
  • Live Scan Fingerprinting clearance takes 3-6 weeks.

The TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire

The Tuberculosis (TB) Risk Assessment Questionnaire must be completed every 4 years by new volunteers and those due for renewal before volunteering. It must be filled out and signed by a licensed health care provider (physician, physician assistant, nurse, or nurse practitioner).

Usually, the questionnaire alone is sufficient, but some may be referred for further TB testing. Volunteers should visit their health care provider to complete the form. Scheduling a "nurse well visit" may lower the cost. Updates on future school TB clinics will be posted on our website.

If you’re unsure about your TB screening renewal, please contact Julie Vitale in the front office or submit your volunteer application packet with the TB Questionnaire page blank. You will be notified if a renewal is needed, and the completed form must be submitted before volunteer clearance.
